Realme Q3i 5G design review:

With about 3 million, manufacturers are not very excited about investing in design, and often use old molds and simple and relatively rickety designs. Fortunately, Realme did not do so. The Realme Q3i 5G is finished with a plastic back, but the device is very solid and compact. The slightly curved edges are very comfortable to hold.

This is one of the thinnest phones out there, measuring just 8.5 mm thick and weighing 185 g. The back is shiny with beautiful color effects. Realme has finally decided to drop the “Dare to Leap” logo, and this is considered the right choice. It’s an unnecessarily large and flashy logo. The design of the Q3i is quite simple and trendy.

The front screen is flat with the selfie camera placed to the left. The proportions of the screen border are neither too thick nor too thin. This is a popular design style, and there are not too many reviews about it. The frame is made of plastic, is mostly flat, and has a matte finish that makes it eye-catching enough. The top of the frame is empty, while the bottom houses a 3.5mm jack, a headset, a USB-C port, and a speaker. The left side of the Realme 8 5G has a triple card slot and a volume rocker. Yes, you have dual SIM functionality along with a microSD card.

 Realme Q3i 5G screen review:

The Realme 8 5G uses a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with full HD + resolution with a pixel density of 405 ppi. One of the plus points when evaluating the Realme Q3i 5G is that the device has a 90Hz refresh rate screen, while competitors at the same price only have 60Hz screens.

Also, you can choose between 60Hz or 90Hz in the settings. The higher the screen scanning frequency, the faster and more fluently all swipes and touches on the device occur. In return, it will consume more battery power. However, in the battery review, the power consumption of the 90Hz and 60Hz screens is negligible. That’s why there’s no reason why we shouldn’t set it to 90Hz for a smoother experience.

The Realme promises a typical brightness of 480 nits and a maximum (outdoor) brightness of 600 nits for the display. In fact, the results are similar to those announced by the company: the common brightness is 472 nits and the maximum is 580 nits. With the above performance, you have absolutely no problem using the Q3i in the sun.

 Realme Q3i 5G battery review:

The Realme Q3i 5G is one of the top cheap Buffalo battery phones of 2021. It is set up with a large 5000mAh battery, supporting the popular 18W fast charging technology.

The Realme 8 5G achieved excellent results in the battery test, with a 118-hour endurance rating. It performed superbly in all test scenarios: video playback, calls, web browsing, and long standby performance. If you are a person with a busy work schedule, often go on business trips, and travel with little time to charge the battery, the Realme Q3i 5G is the ideal choice. The machine can easily last 2-3 days with little frequency of use. In addition, the Realme Q3i 5G supports 18W fast charging and also has a corresponding charger included in the box. 18W charging technology sounds outdated, but with a cheap price of just over 3 million, you should not ask too much.

Evaluation of the Realme Q3i 5G configuration

As mentioned above, the Realme Q3i 5G is currently the cheapest 5G phone. In terms of configuration, the device is equipped with MediaTek’s top mid-range chip, the Density 700 5G. The Density 700 5G chip offers a good octa-core processor with 2 x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 and 6 x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55. The GPU is a Mali-G57 MC2 and, of course, a 5G modem.

The performance score of the Realme Q3i 5G is quite good in the reviews. Performance is close to Dimensity 800U and Snapdragon 690 of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, and especially it is more powerful than the Snapdragon 678 on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 10.

The Realme Q3i 5G’s processor is powerful enough for demanding tasks, and the GPU handles games very well. I tried playing some of the most popular 3D games and the Game Space service automatically picked it up in the settings and it made every game smooth but still look great. The dual-core Mali-G57 looks weak on paper, but it still gets the job done surprisingly well.

In the evaluation of the Realme Q3i 5G, the performance score of the device is not ranked among the top, but looking back at the selling price of just over 3 million, it is very worth it. You will be hard-pressed to find a 3 million-dollar phone with better performance at the same price.

 Realme Q3i 5G camera review:

The Realme 8 5G offers three cameras on the back, which is the basic camera setup commonly found in low-cost models. There’s a 48MP main camera, followed by a pair of 2MP cameras – one for macro and one for monochrome.

The main camera saves 12MP photos by default, and this is quite good for this low-end segment. The level of detail of the image is sufficient, even if it is not pleasing to the eye. Colors are accurate, noise levels are excellent, and the dynamic range is wide but not overwhelming.

Switch to 2X zoom. It’s not an optical zoom, it’s a pure digital zoom made by cropping and upscaling from a standard 12MP photo. These look fine on the phone’s screen.

There is a 2MP monochrome camera on the back of the Realme 8 5G that is used as a depth sensor, which means it is used in portrait mode. And the main camera is really good with portrait shots, it’s sharp and has good contrast, with commendably good dynamics and blur. The separation isn’t too great, but it’s tolerable.

The 2MP macro camera takes good pictures if you take the right distance because the focus is fixed at around 4-5 cm. If you do that and your hands don’t shake, you’ll get sharp, contrasting, and colorful macro shots. The details aren’t impressive, but they certainly do for your Instagram or Facebook.

Conclude of the Realme Q3i 5G

Personally, I love Realme’s idea of an affordable 5G smartphone, and I have to say, the Realme Q3i 5G has performed quite well. It’s the cheapest 5G-capable phone right now, but it still offers other premium features, including a 90Hz display, a high-resolution 48MP camera, and a large 5,000mAh battery.
